The annual Future Energy Leaders (FEL) Eco-Festival was held on 1 December 2024 at the Brunei Shell Recreational Club (BSRC), Seria, bringing together energy leaders, environmental advocates, and the public to explore alternative energy solutions and sustainability initiatives. The event aimed to promote environmental awareness, innovation, and collective action towards a greener future.
The Secretariat of the Special National Coordination Committee for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Brunei Darussalam, proudly participated, showcasing the nation's progress and commitment to the SDGs. Engaging with the Brunei Shell Joint Venture (BSJV) community and the wider public, the SDG Secretariat highlighted Brunei’s ongoing sustainability efforts and the role of clean energy and circular economy practices in achieving Wawasan Brunei 2035.
This year’s festival theme centered on environmental conservation, recycling, and circularity, encouraging participants to adopt sustainable habits. The event featured interactive activities and workshops, including test drives of electric vehicles, recycling initiatives, tree planting, and hands-on eco-friendly projects such as making reef balls, candles, and soaps. These activities provided attendees with practical insights into how individuals and businesses can contribute to a more sustainable and resource-efficient future.
By fostering knowledge-sharing and hands-on participation, the FEL Eco-Festival 2024 reinforced the importance of sustainable energy solutions and environmental stewardship in Brunei. The event served as a dynamic platform for collaboration, bringing together key stakeholders to drive impactful change and accelerate Brunei’s transition towards a low-carbon and sustainable future.
