In celebration of World Children’s Day, the Department of Community Development (JAPEM), Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports organized a workshop titled “Voices of Children”, centered around the theme “For Every Child, Every Right.” The event aimed to amplify children’s voices and emphasize their role in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future.

The Secretariat to the Special National Coordination Committee on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Brunei Darussalam actively participated in the workshop, highlighting the importance of SDGs and sharing Brunei’s progress in achieving these global goals. The session underscored how children's rights align with sustainable development, encouraging young minds to see themselves as changemakers in their communities.

With 60 students from six government schools in attendance, the workshop fostered meaningful discussions on children’s empowerment, education, and participation in national development efforts. Through interactive activities, the students explored ways they can contribute to achieving the SDGs, emphasizing their right to education, protection, and participation in decision-making.

The event reaffirmed Brunei’s commitment to upholding children’s rights and ensuring their voices are heard in national development efforts.
